A useful first shortlist
Record why each investor may fit, the source of that information, any exclusions, and the preferred contact route. Avoid inferring interest from an old investment or a broad label. A shortlist should help you ask relevant questions, not imply that anyone has agreed to consider your company.
What to prepare before contact
Write a short company overview, a clear milestone, and defined evidence of progress. Keep sensitive information private until an appropriate sharing process is agreed. A directory listing, introduction, or meeting is not a funding commitment.
