How to use this concept

Define the unit before calculating. State the time period and which revenues, acquisition costs, delivery costs, refunds, support effort, and other items are included. Different definitions can produce very different results, so comparisons need care. A simplified worksheet is a planning aid; use appropriate financial expertise for decisions and formal reporting.
