For talent

Find the kind of startup work you want to own.

A startup title can mean very different work from one team to another. Look beyond the title to the problem, responsibilities, support, and expectations attached to the role.

Choose the operating context

An early team may need someone to discover the process; a growing team may need someone to improve it. Consider how much ambiguity you want, what support is available, and whether the expected work fits your skills.

Ask for a role with visible success criteria

A useful opportunity describes responsibilities, engagement type, working location, reporting relationships, and how the first months will be evaluated. Discuss compensation and terms with the employer before committing.

  • Which business problem will this role own?
  • What tools, access, and guidance are available?
  • What does a good first project look like?
  • Who makes priorities and reviews the work?

Protect your work and personal information

Verify the company and contact through official channels. Share only the information needed at each stage. A clearly bounded work sample should have an agreed purpose; do not assume an unverified recruiter represents a listed company. Live job applications and hiring are not hosted here yet.

Questions, answered.

Are co-founder and employee roles the same?

No. Responsibility, ownership, compensation, and risk can differ substantially. Discuss the arrangement explicitly and obtain suitable professional advice for agreements.
