For incubators

Give early ideas a route to credible evidence.

Early teams arrive with different levels of experience, access, and certainty. An incubator needs a way to see what each team has learned and what support makes the next experiment possible.

Explore the idea stage

Support learning before presentation polish

An articulate pitch does not establish demand. Ask who experiences the problem, how they handle it today, and what the team has observed. A prototype, interview note, or trial can reveal more than another pitch practice session.

Map shared resources to actual constraints

Lab access, faculty expertise, equipment, business advice, and customer introductions each address a different need. Define access conditions, supervision, ownership, and the expected output before allocating a resource.

  • Customer discovery support for an untested problem.
  • Technical expertise for an uncertain prototype.
  • Operating advice for a first paid project.
  • External program preparation when the team is ready.

Set graduation criteria that suit the team

Readiness may mean a tested problem, a functioning prototype, or a repeatable service rather than a funding event. Use documented milestones and a handover plan. This public build offers resources and workflow exploration; it does not manage incubator facilities or applications.

Questions, answered.

How is this different from the accelerator journey?

The incubator journey emphasizes exploration, access to resources, and foundational capability. The accelerator journey places more emphasis on a defined program, cohort execution, and near-term milestones. Providers can use the names differently.
